This workshop will equip your tween with tools for staying safe online while still being connected with others. Tweens will explore the emotional “masks” they wear to hide their true selves, fostering self-awareness and reflection. We’ll also be joined by instructors from the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE) who will teach tweens how to spot red flags online, protect themselves, and seek help from trusted adults. This will be a two-way conversation so that CAASE can learn more about what this age group is experiencing on social media. CAASE staff are trained to work with youth and will present age-appropriate content, which parents can review in advance.
Parent Presentation (Optional)
We will have experts from Chicago’s Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation lead a conversation about online safety and recommendations for how parents can stay informed about this quickly evolving landscape. This conversation will include information about new threats targeting young boys through gaming. Any adults who are helping to raise your child are invited to join.
